QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • My Wayne Dalton door is model #9902. Will these hinges work on my door?

If it is not the same as what your door is already using we wouldn't advise it. This is made for 9100 and 9600 models.

  • I dont know what type of door I have, but I have a hinge that looks exactly like this one. There is no numerical size code- instead it says \'ME\'. Does that correspond to a particular size?

Not that we are aware of.

  • how do i know what number to order? there is no number on the existing hinge. the hinge is between the third and fourth panel from the bottom. there are four panels in the door.

Usually all of the hinges in the center of the door are #1 hinges. The hinges on the edges of your garage door that hold the garage door rollers are usually numbered. Typically the hinges between the bottom panel and the second panel will be #1 hinges. The hinges between the second and third panels will be # 2 hinges. The hinges between the third and fourth panels will be # 3 hinges and so on.

  • How do i find out what garage door model i have to order parts??

Usually there is a label or tag somewhere on the door panels or spring setup. If you still have the door manual, it should be listed there. If none of these work, you can also check the manufacturer's website and compare the different models to yours - http://www.wayne-dalton.com/residential/Pages/default.aspx

  • How do I know what size to order mine is 3 inches wide?

You will need to order the # based on the location of the hinge on your door. Usually all of the hinges in the center of the door are #1 hinges. The hinges on the edges of your garage door that hold the garage door rollers will be numbered. Usually the hinges between the bottom panel and the second panel will be #1 hinges. The hinges between the second and third panels will be # 2 hinges. The hinges between the third and fourth panels will be # 3 hinges and so on.

  • I need to order a #5 anti-pinch hinges, but I do not see a #5 hinge. Please help!

They do not make a number 5 hinge for this type of door. That would mean your door had six panels and would be over 9ft tall. Are you sure you are counting the hinge location correctly?

Usually the hinges between the bottom panel and the second panel will be #1 hinges. The hinges between the second and third panels will be # 2 hinges. The hinges between the third and fourth panels will be # 3 hinges. The hinges between the fourth and fifth panels will be # 4 hinges.

I would guess if you have a 5 panel door, you are probably looking for a #3 and #4 hinge.

  • How do i check for Wayne Dalton model number? Door is 16' Wide and 7' High. I see 314973 on Torquemaster

Usually there is a label on the back of one of the panels that would list the model. If you have the owners manual the model would be listed on the front. Sometimes models are listed on the spring tube labels as well. Feel free to email us some pictures and we can try to help you determine this.
