I have a Torquemaster double spring unit and I ruined one of the \"worm gears\". I cannot find a worm gear (282340) or a winding component (279168) anywhere. I\'ve tried dozens of on-line sellers, and none of them have them. Do you know where I can buy one of these units? If not, what do I need to upgrade it to a Torquemaster Plus?
The winding assembly and parts for the original are no longer made. The original style and the plus style are not cross compatible. You will have to upgrade to the Plus. To upgrade to the Plus you will need to purchase new springs, cable drum assembly, and winding assembly. All in the Plus style. You can get all of those parts here by selecting the Plus style spring and adding the plus upgrade kit below the product options. https://www.waynedaltonparts.com/products/wayne-dalton-torquemaster-spring
Will this work with standard Torque Master cable drums or will they have to be upgraded to Torque Master Plus as well?
This is only compatible with the plus style springs and drum assembly. You will have to upgrade your other parts at the same time to use it. The original style is no longer made.
Do you have the original version?
The original style is no longer made. This is only compatible with the plus style springs and drum assembly. You will have to upgrade your other parts at the same time to use it.
Can I buy just the right and left winding gears for part #wd-32022p, and if so how much would they cost, and what would be the part #?
None of those parts are sold separately. The winding assembly and all parts in it are only sold as a set.
I have a torquemaster 314999 that is broken. Will this part fit my door?
If your spring a single in the plus style, it will.
I purchased the torque master plus winding assembly. My Question is what type of tool do you use to ratchet this system to torque the springs?
You will need a ratchet wrench, 3" extension, and 5/8" socket. You can view a tool list on page 2 of the installation instructions - https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1499/9402/files/TMS_Plus_Spring_Instructions.pdf
