Wayne Dalton Torquemaster Replacement Springs

Replacement springs for Wayne Dalton Garage Doors using the torquemaster spring system. This specialty spring is made only by Wayne Dalton for their Torquemaster TMS garage door system.

How to Identify your Wayne Dalton Torquemaster spring:
You can find all the information you need to fill in the options for ordering your springs on the label located on the left side of your garage door spring tube. If you have a part number on your current Wayne Dalton Torquemaster spring, please disregard the number and choose from the drop down boxes above so we can determine the correct Wayne Dalton TMS Torquemaster spring for your garage door. The most important information is the balance weight. If the balance weight is not on the label, you will need to weigh your door. Use a bathroom scale under the middle of the door and release the tension on the spring to weigh.

Do you have a Plus or Original?
Please look at the pictures, prior to purchasing, to determine if your door uses the Torquemaster plus or the original Torquemaster system.  Some springs for heavier doors are only available in the Torquemaster plus type spring - if you currently have the original style for one of these you will need to upgrade to the plus style by purchasing the upgrade kit above.

Torquemaster Plus: Spring Winding End & Assembly:
Easily identified by its octagon shaped end. Typically this spring will be found on doors manufactured after February 2007. The Wayne Dalton Torquemaster Plus type of spring system has an all steel assembly
Torquemaster Plus
Original Torquemaster: Spring Winding End & Assembly:
Identified by its external splines and a rounded end. This winding end may be made up of metal (as shown) or can also be molded plastic (black, white or clear). The winding assembly for the original torquemaster spring type is no longer made. If you need winding assembly replacement, upgrade to the PLUS style of spring and order the Torquemaster PLUS upgrade kit.
Original Torquemaster Spring
This chart is based on raised panel doors. If the door has windows it is based on windows all the way across the panel. If your door does not match the information provided, please contact us for more help determining the correct weight (or actually weigh your door with a bathroom scale to be sure). N/A indicates that there is not a TM spring for this door model size/they didn't make that model in that size.

If all the information you entered is correct the spring that you receive will be the spring currently manufactured for your garage door. The torquemaster springs you receive will not always match the length of your old springs due to the switch from an oil tempered spring to a new high tensile strength music wire spring. It may be different in length, diameter, or wire size than your existing spring, but it is the correct part that you ordered for the model of your garage door.

NOTE: It is your responsibility to order the correct part for your unit. If you guess the balance weight, you may not get the correct spring for your unit. We use the details required above to determine the correct spring for your specific door. We can't send the correct spring unless you provide the correct information. If you do not order the correct part, return shipping will be at your cost.

Plastic spring sleeves are not included.

Finding the information on your garage door

  1. To find the size and balance weight of your Wayne Dalton garage door, look on the white sticker found on the torquemaster spring tube (tube above door opening that has springs inside).
  2. If you do not have the white sticker on your torquemaster tube, you will need to weigh your door to determine the balance weight. Use a bathroom scale and release tension on your door prior to taking the weight.
  3. Measure the height of the door.
  4. If you are still not sure what to order, Contact Us via Chat or by using the web form on the contact us page or calling us.
  5. When contacting us, it is helpful if you have information about your door such as door model, if it is insulated or not, if the insulation has a vinyl, paper, or steel backing, and, if you know, what year it was installed.
Customer Reviews Average Rating review
Great
Instructions included in the box! Shipped quickly and delivered on-time. Fit well. Documentation stated that length might be different, and they were shorter so I had to trim the plastic sleeve for easier installation - piece of cake. Took about 2 hours.
