7 Quick Tips for Buying Garage Door Opener Parts

You will need to know several details about your garage door opener to select the correct parts for it. Manufacturer name and model number are usually necessary.
To find detailed infomation about your garage door opener, look on the garage door opener power head located on the ceiling of your garage. Usually stickers and identifying information are found on the back or sides of the machine.

	I ordered this part and was shipped in a timely manner. The photo looked like the original part, but had only two wirers from each unit as the original had 4 wirers from one unit. Just had to read the cover of instructions to see which set of instructions to use. Worked great and fixed the problem

	Sensors were received as described and did correct the issue of my garage door suddenly reversing when trying to close. What I suspect was that the splice in the original wiring started to fail. One set of wires from the emitter, one set of wires from the receiver; the two were spliced together behind the sheetrock, with one set of wires then going to the opener. I had a very difficult time in aligning the original emitter/sensor pair, but was a cake walk to align the new emitter/sensor pair.

	Safety Beam Sensors

	Easy!
	After reading message boards I decided the problem with my door reversing was due to faulty sensors. So I ordered these and in a matter of minutes my problem was solved! Easy to install, in fact we used the existing wiring and just spliced the new sensor to the old wiring.

	Thanks to the trouble-shooting suggestions in the operator's manual, our door problem was due to "broken" safety beam sensors. Replacing them with the new parts did the job. We only needed the sensors and not the metal brackets or extra wire. I was disappointed to see that the replacement sensors were also made in China. But, what isn't any more? The lady who took the order was very courteous and shipping worked out well. We are completely satisfied with the parts order.
